- This Society was created to recognize Past, Present, and Future Drum Majors, for
their
contribution of excellence in maintaining the traditions of the University of Cincinnati
Bearcat Bands.
- To assist in the cultivation and development of the Julie Benken Memorial Drum Major
Scholarship Fund for future students.
- To create a social network for all Drum Majors to communicate and share experiences.
~ The DMS Pin ~

The DMS Pin is to be awarded to all Drum Majors after their tenure in the Band is complete, and they demonstrate dedication to serving the purposes of the Society, at a ceremony similar to this one. It recognizes you as an official, contributing member to the Society and its purposes.
~ The Gold Whistle ~

The Whistle is more than a mere gift. Possession of this instrument indicates the authority of your position. While in recent history the Acme Thunderer Whistle has become the command standard for the UC Band, the Gold Whistle symbolizes completion of your tenure and recognition of your efforts while attending UC. The red lanyard allows the wearer to identify with UC and serves as an accent to visibly show your unending support.
